Wow Borneo operates 4 vessels on 3 river systems offering orangutan cruises in Central Kalimantan. Each boat is a traditional converted wooden vessel, with freshly cooked meals eaten on deck, English speaking guides and unique experiences of the iconic orangutan.

Its just a short hop from Jakarta to join a WOW Borneo Orangutan Cruise for the trip of a lifetime. Winning Trip Advisor’s Excellence Award for 2017 and 2018, we operate on the Kahayan and Rungan River systems, in the world famous Orangutan Tanjung Puting National Park and in the Sebangau National Park, which is home to the largest population of wild orangutans in Kalimantan.

The Orangutan and Dayak Village Cruise is on board the KM Rahai’i Pangun. Fly into Palangka Raya for this cruise on the Kahayan and Rungan Rivers. A combination of orangutan sightings on the river, and a visit to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation centre, it also includes cultural visits to riverside Dayak villages.

The Katingan River & the Sebangau National Park cruise is on board the KM Spirit of Kalimantan, also accessed through Palangka Raya. The Spirit of Kalimantan is an adventurous experience for our guests wanting to visit the famed Sebangau National Park, where a special night is spent in a forest lodge, followed by a jungle trek. We explore villages and remarkable black water lake systems off the Katingan River. No other tourists there!

Tanjung Puting National Park & Camp Leakey cruise are on board the KM Sekonyer and the KM Kumai. Access is by flight to Pangkalan Bun. Both boats depart from the port in Kumai and take our guests on a highly acclaimed journey through the mangroves and forests to the famous research stations and forest walks to feeding platforms where orangutans are viewed daily.
