DAY 1: PANGKALAN BUN HOTEL – CAMP LEAKEY

After breakfast in your Pangkalan Bun hotel, your guide will pick you up for the 30-minute transfer to Kumai by car to join your private klotok.  This is a traditional wooden riverboat about 14m by 2,5m with a covered viewing deck where you can see the rain forest. The guide’s team includes the boatmen and a cook. On the boat, there is a simple mattress, pillow, mosquito net, meals, mineral water, kitchen, and bathroom.

From the port, we cruise past the busy Kumai harbour downstream for half an hour to the Sekonyer River.  Here we enter the quiet world of a dense nipah palm mangrove and its wildlife, winding further towards Tanjung Puting National Park.  On reaching a small waterway off the river, we enter the park area, and cruise to Camp Leakey where the older orangutan are reintroduced into the rain forest. After lunch on the boat we take the short trek to the famous research and information center. After learning more about the history of this centre, and  before see feeding time at 14.00pm for old rehabilitated orangutans given additional foods.

DAY 2 : BOAT – PONDOK TANGGUI – PESALAT – TANJUNGHARAPAN – PANGKALAN BUN

After breakfast, boating down to PondokTanggui, rehabilitation center for the new excaptive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. continuing the tour to Pesalat, pesalat is reforestation area, see the process of reforestation project. In the afternoon, visit TanjungHarapan rehabilitation center to witness feeding time for rehabilitation orangutan at 15.00pm. Late afternoon visiting the village near of the national park and after that you can observe the proboscis monkey. Boating down slowly, and you can see fireflies and take dinner around the fireflies at nipahpalm(the fire flies is depend onthe weather). Back to pangkalan Bun hotel.(B,L,D)

DAY 1 :                  PANGKALAN BUN – KUMAI – PARK

Your guide will collect you from the Pangkalan Bun Airport for transfer to the port of Kumai to board your personal boat. It is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2.5m with an upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The boat team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok to observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds along the riverside.

Dinner and overnight on the boat. The boat is equipped with very simple mattresses, pillows and toilet facilities. The boatmen will prepare all meals. Bottled “mineral” water and mosquito nets are available on the boat.

DAY 2 :                  PARK – PONDOK TANGGUY – CAMP LEAKEY – BOAT
After breakfast cruise up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the third rehabilitation center for orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. After return to the boat, we cruise the waterways  in the park through tea colored water to see the perfect reflections from the vegetation along the river. You may even see fresh water crocodiles!

After lunch on board, visit Camp Leakey, the research and information center and where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. From the centre, set off on an easy and pretty trek through the tropical rainforest to see orangutans, birds and other rainforest animals and jungle plants. Keep an eye out for noisy gibbons, deer and wild boar.

Return to the boat for dinner and move to a quiet mooring for the night.

DAY 3 :                  BOAT – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT
Free morning program until time transfer to Kumai then to Pangkalan Bun airport for next destination.

Optional – overnight in Rimba Eco Lodge – additional cost for accommodation and dinners.

Includes: Transfer from and to the airport, bus station or hotels, all other transport as indicated on the itinerary, permit cost, all meals during the trip, and English speaking and local guides

In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the wildlife such as long noses monkey, long tail macaque, birds along the riverside. A simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled “mineral” water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet is provided on the boat besides the familiar – helpful guides and boatmen.

DAY 2 : PARK – CAMP LEAKEY – BOAT (B,L,D).
After breakfast cruise up the river for Pondok Ambung for short trekking through the forest. After return to the boat, we cruise the waterways  in the park through tea colored water to see the perfect reflections from the vegetation along the river. You may even see fresh water crocodiles!

After lunch on board, visit Camp Leakey, the research and information center and where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. DAY 3 : PARK – PONDOK TANGGUY – PESALAT – TANJUNG HARAPAN – BOAT (B,L,D).
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Afterward continuing the trip to Pesalat replantation camp, See the process of replantation project or take this opportunity to hike at forest. In the afternoon visit Tanjung harapan rehabilitation center and witness an other feeding time at 15.00. Free afternoon program, we could visit village near by the park. . Overnight on the boat
(Free additional program : we could arrange the night walking on this place searching for nocturnal animal or glowing mushroom or just enjoy down the river at nipah palm magrove observing fireflies )

DAY 4 : BOAT – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT ( B )
Cruise transfer to Kumai then to Pangkalan Bun airport for departure.
