A special combination tour to enable you to see the work of 2 famous and successful orangutan rehabilitation centres in Central Kalimantan. Although orangutan habitat is threatened by forest clearance and annual fires, Central Kalimantan is still home to the largest surviving wild populations in the world.

5 Day Orangutan & Nature Tour in Palangka Raya and Tanjung Puting

Meet at Palangka Raya airport and transfer your boat in Palangka Raya harbour to start your journey. Cruise past the stilted and floating houses of the provincial capital and continue upriver along the forest-lined river, passing villages. In the early evening, take a canoe through the shimmering black water lakes. Keep an eye out for proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and Brahminy kites. Return to the boat for a quiet dinner in the midst of the jungle

Visit BOS Foundation Education Centre & Orangutan Island

Our English speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel for the 20 km drive to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) Rehabilitation and Education Centre.  Visit the Education centre for a closer look at young orangutans in the program – these arewaiting for transfer to pre-release islands orare in socialization programs. Watch them at play behind the glass screen.

Samboja Lestari BOS Orangutan Sanctuary in East Kalimantan & Tree Tops Walk

Pick up from your hotel to Samboja Lestari.
 On the way is the forest park of Bukit Bangkirai with its high canopy walk. Visitors can take short forest walks and climbing into the forest canopy using connecting bridges to a height of 40 meters. Platforms provide a perfect vantage point for observing macaques, leaf monkeys, maroon langurs, gibbons and hornbills.

3 day ORANGUTAN TOUR in Tanjung Puting National Park

Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by our local staff and take you to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. En route stop at first rehabilitation center for orangutan at Tanjung Harapan.
