Start with a relaxing river journey on the Rungan River, passing by Orangutan islands and on to traditional Dayak village only accessible by river. Experience the wonderful pace of riverside life by living on board traditional boats converted with comfortable cabins, bathrooms and delicious gourmet food.

Then continue eastwards to Balikpapan on a short flight, where you will walk across the tree tops and visit Samboja Lestari, the orangutan and sun bear sancutary. After some days on a Mahakam river boat, jump aboard a speedboat for the crossing to the pristine island of Maratua for lazy days of swimming, snorkelling, watching sea life and drifting amid the fabulous coral reefs.

This Jungle River Cruise gave us a great present! The river and time pass slowly on the boat. Not only orangutans and jungle but also the people, especially the children of the village moved us so much. I was impressed!
