Travel by exciting speedboat up the Kahayan River from Palangkaraya to this old Regency. On arrival, walk along boardwalks through the village forest,and then stroll around this town with very old houses, and a tradition of rattan weaving. See a fascinating example of a sandung, or bone house, and learn about ancient burial rites as you admire the outstanding carvings.

Return to Palangkaraya by speedboat for transfer to your hotel.

Bos Orangutan Centre
& Arboretum Walk

Enjoy a stroll along boardwalks in the Arboretum, a forest reserve adjacent to the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Rehabilitation Clinic. Glimpse baby orangutans in the forest for their daily jungle craft lessons with their baby sitters. If open, visit the BOS Education Centre to see film of their program. Later board klotok, traditional canoe, for a short trip through narrow canals and lakes to the Rungan River. Glimpse orangutans on a release island. Return to your guesthouse/hotel.
