Weekend Jungle River Cruise For the ultimate escape from the city, the natural treasures of Borneo are right on your doorstep, only a 1 ½ hours flight away from Jakarta on Garuda Indonesia’s newest regional service to the city of Palangkaraya. Come on over to Central Kalimantan for a relaxing jungle river journey on the Rungan River. Travel through magical reflections to see orang utans on forested island, traditional Dayak village and experience their riverside lifestyle.
Friday Pick up from airport, and transfer direct to the Rahai’i Pangun. After cruising through Palangkaraya the boat continues on upriver, passing villages, orangutan islands along the jungle lined river. After lunch, we take canoes, klotoks , for forest walk on a small island and to explore ox bow lake system. Boat moves to Tumbang Tahai and moors opposite Pulau Pallais, to see orangutans in their natural habitat on BOS release island.enjoy your afternoon tea before setting out for a sunset walk to Bukit Tangkling and to Batu Banama sacred rock and spirit houses or to Catholic Convent for view over Tangkiling hills and region. Return to the boat for evening meal Saturday After breakfast, transfer by canoe to the Arboretum boardwalk and BOS Orangutan Education Centre to see orangutans in the BOS Rehabilitation program. Return to the boat and continue down river. Continue cruise to Bukit Rawi and walk through this historic town and learn about the ancestral bone houses, or Sandungs and the funeral ceremony called the Tiwah. Cruise back to Palangkaraya. Dinner on board/ or dinner in Palangkaraya and city tour. Sunday Early transfer to airport.
